SONGS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

I love holiday music! So I've created a playlist/album of all the holiday songs I've recorded to date. I'll probably add some more each holiday season!

Pressing a particular song in the player below will start the playlist playing at that song. Pressing "q" will pause, pressing "p" will start playing again.

1. It's the Most Wonderful Time — Andy Williams' It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year has always filled me with delight, ever since I first heard it as a child. I sing it here with that same energy and delight, hoping it fills you and moves you in the same way. Plus: the song is a waltz! — which always makes it that much more enjoyable in my book of music.
2. Have Yourself a Merry Little ChristmasHave Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas songs. For me (starting with Judy Garland's original film version), it has always been an emotion-filled song, by turns joyful, playful, nostalgic, and wistful — so that is how I sing it here.
3. It Doesn't Have To Be That Way — My cover of Jim Croce's tender Christmas love song, It Doesn't Have To Be That Way.
4. Winter Wonderland — The jazzy, "big band" arrangement makes this song great fun to sing, and easy to play around as I sing. I'm singing to a karaoke arrangement based on Michael Bublé's 2011 version.
5. I'll Be Home For ChristmasI'll Be Home For Christmas is a beautiful Christmas song, and another of my favorites. It touched the hearts of so many soldiers far from home in World War II, when Bing Crosby first sang the song in 1943. And it continues to touch everyone whose heart is moved by the Christmas vision of warmth, togetherness, light, and love.
6. Caroling, Caroling — A very sweet, delightful Christmas song, Caroling, Caroling was originally sung by Nat King Cole in 1954, and his has always remained the memorable version — so I'm letting it guide my singing in this cover.
7. White Christmas — Bing Crosby's version of White Christmas is the world's all-time, best-selling single (in sales of physical records and CDs). It is also one of the most soothing songs ever written! When I was a baby, and my mother needed to step out of our apartment to run an errand, my sharp ears would always catch her leaving and I'd start crying. . . until, one day, she hit on playing Bing Crosby singing White Christmas — which apparently completely mesmerized me. So my cover of this song is coming from a very deep place in me.
8. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! — I'm singing Let It Snow! to a wonderful, high-energy, big band karaoke arrangement, based on Michael Buble's version of the song. A lot of fun to sing and play around with my voice, especially when I completely let loose at the end.
9. Merry Christmas Darling — My cover of The Carpenters' beautiful Christmas song, Merry Christmas Darling. Karen Carpenter has always been one of my favorite singers. I learned an enormous amount about singing by listening to her decades ago, and I'm taking my cues from her as I sing this song. I love Richard Carpenter's musically rich song — full of wonderful key and chord changes — and instrumentally arranged in a classical style with lush harmonies.
10. The Christmas Song — I love the music of the holiday season, and felt in the mood to sing one of my favorite songs for Christmas Eve (2023).
The Easter Parade — My friend, Jackie Hogan, and I accompany Irving Berlin’s 1933 classic — Jackie playing ragtime piano, and me singing in my best “Fred Astaire” style.
